Connect SpecProof to your MCP client

Plug SpecProof into Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Cline or any other MCP client to give it semantic search over 3GPP, IETF and MPEG standards.

1. Get an API key

Open API Keys and generate one. You will only see it once.

2. Configure your client

Pick your client below and follow the 3-step guide.

3. Ask questions

Query 3GPP, IETF and MPEG standards in natural language from your tool of choice.

1. Open Claude.ai connector settings

In Claude.ai go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.

2. Enter the server URL

Name: SpecProof
URL: https://mcp.specproof.ai
Click Connect. A browser window will open the SpecProof login page.

3. Sign in with your SpecProof account

Enter your SpecProof email and password. Claude uses OAuth 2.0 with Dynamic Client Registration — no API key or token to paste. You will be redirected back to Claude.ai with the connector authorized.

4. Enable per chat

In any conversation, click the + button in the composer and toggle SpecProof on. Try asking: "What does 3GPP TS 26.114 say about IMS Data Channel bootstrap?"

Prefer an API key instead?

OAuth is the default for Claude.ai, but every client on this page — including Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, and Cline — accepts a long-lived API key via the X-API-Key header. Generate one on the API Keys page.
